          04 July 2023

LEADING THE INDUSTRY, AGT TRACKS ITS CARBON FOOTPRINT AND COVERS 20% OF ITS ENERGY CONSUMPTION FROM ITS OWN WASTE-DERIVED GREEN ENERGY SOURCE

AGT, which has been developing its work for the decoration and furniture industry with passion and technology for many years, provides 20% of its production from green energy sources within the scope of its sustainability goals.

Since its inception with a community and environmentally conscious approach, AGT has continued its production without compromising its ethical values and quality principles, reaching more than a thousand sales points on five continents and using renewable energy sources in the production of products. The brand, aiming to reduce its carbon footprint by using green energy in production, contributes to the preservation of nature.

While offering unlimited designs with its rich product range, AGT adds value to raw MDF products produced from natural wood with its advanced technology, providing the most suitable solutions for the needs of the era by offering superior features. Positioned as an innovative and design-focused brand in the sector, AGT brings together technology and innovation in MDF, MDF-lam, panel, profile, and parquet production. Expressing its commitment to environmentally friendly production with EO, Blue Angel, EPD (Environmental Product Declaration) and Zero Waste certifications, the company also draws attention to the global climate change and carbon footprint reduction responsibility of the manufacturing sector. In this context, emphasizing the importance of sustainability policies to protect nature, AGT Chairman of the Executive Board Mustafa Söylemez said, "We produce green energy by using the waste we obtain from our own facilities with our biomass power plant. We provide 20% of the energy we use in production from renewable energy sources. Thus, we prevent the emission of 30,615 metric tons of carbon dioxide (CO2) annually with the energy we produce again."

AGT prevents the greenhouse gas emissions equivalent to the use of approximately 7,000 passenger cars for one year, the electricity consumption of 6,000 homes for one year, and the carbon dioxide emissions resulting from the use of 15,600,000 kg of coal, and the greenhouse gas emissions avoided by 11,000 tons of recycled waste and carbon sequestration by 510,000 trees.

AGT has ISO 50001 Energy Management System and ISO 14064 Carbon Footprint audits.
